CONTESTED CANON

The Haranir reveal changes the map—not the certainty

Patch 12.0.7 explicitly gathers troll and elven leaders to hear that Haranir, trolls and elves descend from one lineage. The vision is meaningful canon, but the exact sequence remains unresolved: developer clarification and the story itself preserve the possibility that Elder Hagar’s interpretation is incomplete.

  • Established: elves, trolls and Haranir share ancient ancestry.
  • Unresolved: whether Haranir predate trolls, diverged beside them, or descend from dark trolls.
  • Consequence: ancestral kinship has not erased the political violence between Amani and thalassian elves.

This is an editorial atlas, not a mirror of source text. It distinguishes biological lineage, magical transformation, political identity and faction membership instead of flattening them into one “race” field.
